FESTIVALS - CARNIVAL

It´s Carnival time! As you probably know, the school Carnival topic for this year is THE SEA, according to our PDI, so our school will be full of fish, oysters, jellyfish, sharks, fishermen,  ships, pirates and so on. It sounds good, doesn´t it?

By the way, have you ever heard of Molly Malone? She was an Irish fishmonger who sold cockles and mussles in the streets of Dublin many years ago (19th century). There is a very popular song that tells her sad story which has become the unofficial anthem of Ireland. Listen carefully...

1.- First things first: let´s review some vocabulary about Carnival. How many words do you remember? Have a look at this video: it gives information about this specific celebration. You also have a photocopy in your notebook.

2.- Now let´s listen to the song "Molly Malone". It is very sweet and tender...

3.- Here is the statue of Molly Malone, situated in Suffolk Street - Dublin, in front of the tourist information centre. Lots of tourists visit it every year:

4.- Finally, let´s do the Liveworksheets 44 and 45.
