HAPPY HALLOWEEN

As you know, Halloween is on the 31st of October. It is a time for scary costumes, sweets, trick-or-treat and games. Remember to bring an apple to school next Wednesday to play APPLE BOBBING, our favourite game. Meanwhile, have fun with these online games to review the vocabulary.

SCARY HALLOWEEN!!!

It´s time for vampires, witches, ghosts, skeletons, zombies and some other evil creatures... Scary!!! It is Halloween!!! The night of fear... Have you carved your pumpkins? Do you have your costume ready? What are you waiting for? Remember that, despite it´s an anglosaxon event, it has got celtic origins, so we can find it in Galicia under the name of Samaín.
Today we have had a spooky party at school where we played some funny Halloween games:

- Pass the Mummy
- Blowing the ghost
- The ghost race
- The eyeball dance
- Apple bobbing

It was great fun! And we even recited a magic spell to pass with flying colours!!! Don´t you believe me? Here is the evidence...

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN...

THIS IS HALLOWEEN

You know perfectly well what Halloween is but we are going to remember the most important things of this special day. This is Halloween: 

- carving pumpkins
- dressing up
- trick or treating
- parties
- games
- sweets

And we were doing all these things during this week. You can see a fantastic pumpkin exhibiton in the entrance hall. Thank you so much for your creativity and imagination. They are really fantastic!!! Besides, we had a great time in the English class playing these Halloween games:

- The mummy dance
- The ghosts race
- Apple bobbing

Apple bobbing is our favourite. We got a bit wet trying to catch an apple with our teeth. Have a look....

HAVING FUN AT HALLOWEEN

As I told you the other day, Halloween is time for pumpkin lanterns, fancy dress costumes, frights and parties. And we had a great party in the English class last Thursday. We played 4 Halloween games:
- The mummy dance
- The ghosts race
- The monster´s eye dance
- Apple Bobbing 
We all had a great time! And we ate some sweets too! YummY!!! Here is a memory of that day.

HALLOWEEN IS HERE AGAIN!!!

One more year, it is time to be scared. Spooky creatures appear everywhere: ghosts, witches, vampires, monsters, zombies, ... Bit it is also time for having fun: we decorate the classroom, we carve pumpkins, we dress up, and we get wet playing Apple Bobbing. Yes!!! You guessed! It´s Halloween!!! Remember that it is a tradition from English-speaking countries. Do you want to learn more about it? Have a look at this video and you will see how British kids celebrate it at home.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!



Today is the great day! It´s time to prepare our costumes and have fun. Are you going to trick-or-treat? Take a big big Halloween bag and fill in with all the sweets you will get. Happy Halloween!

FUNNY BONES

This cartoon by the BBC "Funny Bones" was very popular in The UK. It is the story of 3 skeletons: a big skeleton, a little skeleton and a dog skeleton. They live in a dark dark cellar, down the dark dark stairs of a dark dark house. This episode is titled "Bumps in the night". Very funny!

THE SKELETAL SYSTEM

As we dedicate our Halloween activities to the skeletons, I think it is a good idea to learn the names of our bones in English. In fact, many names are similar in both languages. Have a look at this video. Despite the presenter´s voice, you can learn many things about our human body and the skeletal system, not only their parts but also how to protect it. Quite interesting!
