UNIT 1 - BACK TO SCHOOL: Vocabulary

We are starting a new unit today: unit 1, titled "Back to school"

It is about school, but we will mostly speak about our daily routines and our after school activities. What time do you get up on school days? What do you usually have for breakfast? How do you go to school? Do you have lunch at he school canteen or at home?

We will try to know more about any and each one of you. Ready?

FESTIVALS - THANKSGIVING DAY

Today we pay close attention to 
Eva Cotelo, a former student of this school and a teacher student at the moment. She has lived in the USA for an entire school year and she will explain US how life is in the USA. Besides, she will talk about a popular celebration: Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November. Families gather together for a big meal, which usually consists of roast turkey with potatoes, corn, carrots and other vegetables. Pumpkin pie is essential for dessert. It is also a time to be thankful for the good things we have, so people usually say: I´M THANKFUL FOR...

UNIT 0 - WELCOME BACK: Interview

We are finishing the introduction unit (unit 0), where we have revised many contents from last school year. We are the best at English!!!!
Today we will focus on the final project: we have to interview our teacher student, Eva, asking her as many questions as possible. Are you ready?

1.- First things first: let´s go over some question words. Write them down in your notebook, please.

2.- Next, please stick the photocopies with the questions in your notebook.

Take good note of these tips:

          - Make your guest feel comfortable: look at her, smile, have fun and relax.

          - Be curious.

          - Look at your guest in the eye, don´t read your notes.

          - Listen to her and react: make comments.

          - Don´t ask YES or NO questions. Ask questions with long answers instead.

          - Do your research and learn the questions, don´t read them.

It´s great fun! It´s typical to eat roasted potatoes, chestnuts and toffee apples. Yummy! Take a look:
