OSCAR CEREMONY

Next Sunday, March the 7th, the 2010 Oscar Ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, USA. We were watching the trailers of the 5 films nominated as Best Animated Feature Film and I suppose you voted for your favourite. You can still participate in the poll. Till now, we have 30 votes and the winner is "UP". Which one will be the "real" winner on Sunday? We´ll know it on Monday. I can´t wait!

And finally, the last of the 5 nominated films: "Up". This is its plot: A young Carl Fredrickson meets a young adventure spirited girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a Lost Land in South America. 70 years later, Ellie has died. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, he and his house fly away. However he has a stowaway aboard. An 8 year old boy named Russell, whose trying to get an assisting the elderly badge. Together, they embark in an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.

THE SECRET OF KELLS

Adventure, action and danger await 12 year old Brendan, who must fight Vikings and a serpent god to find a crystal and complete the legendary Book of Kells. The story is set in the 9th century. Brendan is educated by his uncle, Abbot Cellach, who holds a firm grip on his nephew and expects him to follow in his footsteps. One day, Brendan meets Brother Aidan, a master illustrator who shows him the beauty of art and stimulates his creativity and fantasy. Finally, Brendan decides to break free in search of his dream: completing the valuable Book of Kells. On his journey through the forest, he has to face his biggest fears. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

The 3rd film nominated is "The princess and the frog": a fairy tale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans and centered on a young girl named Princess Tiana and her fateful kiss with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again. It´s got 3 Oscar Nominations and it has just released today here in Spain, so go and watch it. Here you are the official trailer:

Following with our CINEMA WEEK, here you are the trailer of "Fantastic Mr. Fox", another of the nominated films. It is based on the book by Roald Dahl, but unfortunately we can´t still watch it here in Spain. We´ll have to wait until the 9th of April. And the 2010 Oscar Nominations for the Best Animated Feature Film are these 5 that you can see above. Which one will be the winner? We have to wait 32 days until the Oscar Night.
