OUR CHRISTMAS CAROL
This is the last week at school before the Christmas holidays and we are very busy preparing the Christmas concert. This is our carol for this year: "Rocking around the Christmas tree", from a version sung by Hannah Montana. Practise these days at home to do it very well on Friday. Hands on!

THE LEGEND OF KING ARTHUR
Today we all went to see a fantastic play: "The legend of King Arthur", by Face 2 Face Theatre Company. As you can imagine, it is a story about power, love, traitors and ambition. The main characters were King Arthur, Merlin the magician, Morgan Le Fay, Queen Gwynevere and Lancelot. It was really funny and we laughed a lot, especially when we saw some of our classmates on the stage. Congratulations to the actors! They did a great job!
And now have a look at this slideshow as a memory of this fantastic play. Enjoy it!

WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN
In a few days we will all go to see a play in English in our school concert hall: "The legend of King Arthur". These days we are learning the vocabulary, the songs and the plot with our English teachers to follow the performance more easily. And our favourite song is this one: "When the Saints go marching in". A good way to learn it by heart is to sing along with this karaoke version. Ready?... Go!

SINGING IN THE RAIN
Another funny activity to do in a rainy autumn afternoon is to wear a good raincoat and wellies and jump in the puddles. You can even dance and sing in the rain without an umbrella. Like Gene Kelly in this famous scene. Enjoy it!

AUTUMN IS HERE
The autumn is here once more! It´s a good time to go to the woods and see the changes in the nature, to admire the beautiful colours of the leaves and to enjoy this fantastic season. There are plenty of funny activities you can do in the autumn. For me, the one of the funniest is to rake the leaves into a pile and jump into them. Have you ever tried?... What are you waiting for?...
Enjoy this video...

AN AMERICAN VISITOR: LAUREN DENSLOW
Today we have received the visit of an American girl: Lauren Denslow. She is from Seattle, Washington, in the northwest of the USA. She is going to stay in Coruña for a whole year because she is the conversation auxiliary in Salvador de Madariaga Secondary School. She talked to us about the autumn and about the two most famous festivals in this time of the year: Halloween and Thankgiving Day. We all had a great time: we learned new words, we said three magic spells, we peeled an apple to guess the name of our true love, we learned some traditions but, above all, we enjoyed her visit a lot.
Thank you for your kindness, Lauren! And come again another day, please!
If you want to see the presentations and the photos of this day, have a look...
HALLOWEEN IS ALREADY HERE!

WONDERFUL WORLD!
Wow! Just four weeks since we started school and it seems ages! After a few days of adaptation, now we are working very hard. These last days we were talking about our resolutions for this new school year, we were also learning some new vocabulary related to school materials, school places and school subjects. And talking about this, what´s your favourite subject? English, of course! That´s why you are all going to get good marks!
School is not so boring as you may think. It´s got negative things such as exams, homework, teachers, ..., but there are many positive ones too: the new things we learn everyday, our friends, the break, the outings, ... In fact, we can say that school is a wonderful world! Just like Sam Cooke explains in this fantastic song: "Wonderful world"
Enjoy it!

And I want you to remember the motto of the Olympics:
FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER!
Don´t forget it! You can apply it this new school year!

A visitor from London
As you perfectly know, this year the Olympic games are going to be held in London. That´s why we invited Susana Barros, a Londoner and a mother of two schoolmates, to come to our class and talk about London. She explained us many things about this fascinating city and we learned a lot with her. But the most important thing was how much we enjoyed her talk.
Thank you very much for coming, Susana.
If you want to remember this day, you can have a look at the photos and at the presentation too. You can also check how much you know about London doing the quiz that the teacher Carmen Vázquez Casanova prepared. Enjoy it!

A VISIT FROM NEW ZEALAND
Today we received a visitor from Auckland, New Zealand: Jasmine. It´s amazing how well we understood her English, despite the differences in the pronountiation. It was a very interesting talk and we learned a lot about this unknown country. For example, it is in the south hemisphere and this causes curious situations like Father Christmas coming in the summer.
This is the third talk from an English native speaker during this year. It is very motivating to see our advance in English. Thanks to Jasmine for coming. Have a look at the photos and at the presentation she talked about...

PRONOUNCIATION PROBLEMS
Have you ever had pronounciation problems with English? I have. Sometimes it seems that some words don´t come to your mouth, like in a tongue twister. Don´t worry! That´s normal. Just relax and try it again or leave it for another day. In this video, you can see Inspector Clouseau (a French detective) trying to say the sentence: "I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A HAMBURGER". Don´t miss it. It´s really funny!
