UNIT 2 - SIMPLY THE BEST: Past simple of regular verbs


Now that we are learning to speak about other times, let's see how to form the past simple of regular verbs. It is really easy because they all follow the same rule: add "ED". Let´s go!

UNIT 2 - THE NEW SUPERHERO: Object pronouns

Let´s keep on practising how to compare 2 people or things. Now we know the rules to do it, but let´s see some special cases, irregular adjectives that don´t follow the rules, such as GOOD or BAD.  Besides, we have to see the long adjectives.
Apart from that, we will learn the object pronouns, which are different from the subject pronouns we learned some weeks ago. Ready?

UNIT 2 - THE NEW SUPERHERO: Real superheroes

Today we will speak about superheroes: their names, their superpowers and their weapons. But you already know that they only exist in comics and films. In real life there are many people with superpowers, people who help us, take care of us, encourage us, teach us, hail us, stay with us... They are doctors, nurses, police officers, cleaners, firefighters, farmers, shop assistants, supermarket workers, teachers... and, above all, our family, who is always there when we need it.
And you are also a superhero: you come to school every day, do your homework, study hard, go to after-school activities, help at home... We are the "NEW SUPERHEROES".

BILINGUAL SECTIONS: Arts & crafts

As you know, this school year we continue learning Arts & Crafts as a bilingual section. That means that we use English as well as Galician during the lessons. 

We are developing a project around the seasons, the perfect excuse to observe the changes in nature from an emotional and artistic perspective. Under the title "4 in a year" we are approaching to different artistic languages, styles, techniques, formats and artists. 

During the first term of this school year 2024-2025, we worked around the autumn or fall, and learned about the Pointillism with Georges Seurat. We also met Giuseppe Arcimboldo and his famous portraits out of fruits and veggies. Finally, we counted on the presence of Xulio Gallego, a teacher and local artist who taught us how to use the perspective and the vanishing points in our drawings. Thank you, Xulio, for all your knowledge, patience and commitment. See you in winter!

Today we are starting a new unit: UNIT 2 "THE NEW SUPERHERO"
As its title indicates, we will learn about superheroes and their superpowers. How much do you know about superheroes? Can you name their gadgets? What is your favourite one?
As you know, superheroes appear in films, books and comics, but don´t forget that we can find other superheroes in real life. And, somehow, we are all superheroes, aren´t we? We are brave, strong, patient, helpful, positive... We are the best!!!

The School Day of Non-violence and Peace was founded by the Spanish educator and poet Lorenzo Vidal Vidal in 1964. It is observed on January 30th every year, on the anniversary of the death of Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) was a political and spiritual leader who became the international symbol of a free India through a non-violent revolution and passive resistance. He said:
"If we are to teach real peace in this world… we shall have to begin with the children".

UNIT 1 - BACK TO SCHOOL: Speaking and writing test


Time for a WRITING and SPEAKING TEST. In this ocassion, you have to describe a picture. Choose the one you like best and remember to mention 3 parts:

    1. INTRODUCTION: briefly explain what you see in the pictures.

    2. BODY: add more details using some key expressions (in the background, in the foreground, in the                       centre, at the top, on the right...) and the present continuous.

    3. CONCLUSION: make a guess about how the people in the picture may feel.


If you prefer, you can write and say a compoisition about A special day. It is up to you!
