FESTIVALS: Yellow Day

"Yellow Day" typically refers to the happiest day of the year, falling near the summer solstice. Based on a concept that links sunlight, weather, and emotional motivation, it celebrates optimism and marks the peak of summer days. The term is also widely used in schools as a theme day to promote mental health awareness or teach children about colors.

The date usually falls on or right before the summer solstice, offering the longest days of sunlight.  Students and teachers wear yellow outfits, while classrooms are decorated with yellow flowers, balloons, and paper crafts. Kids learn to identify yellow objects (like bananas, lemons, and sunflowers) through interactive play.

Yellow Day is the opposite of Blue Day, the saddest day of the year, which is on the 3rd Monday in anuary.
